The Godfather Part III

There is very little to say about this film. It has been six years since I watched it the first time when I bought the Godfather DVD collection in 2001. There's a reason for that, The Godfather Part III is an elegant parody of the first two films by Francis Ford Coppola.

The controlled elegance or Al Pacino's acting in the first two movies is lost with Andy Garcia's uncontrollable Vincent Mancini. A hothead that brings down the family and sleeps with his first cousin, played by Sofia Coppola. Mancini only reinforces the Arthurian truism, nothing good can come of bastard offspring born outside of marriage. They are the harbinger of destruction.

I enjoyed watching it tonight on Christmas because its so hilariously bad. OMGWTFBBBQ!!! There are scenes when I just burst out laughing. Let's list all the embarrassing motifs that make this the worst Gangster picture ever made.

Mancini picks a fight at a party. Which would never happen in Godfather I or II.

He bites a guys ear off at the party. Which would never happen in Godfather I or II.

Acts of violence in the home were forbidden. Carlo and Tessio were killed in the driveway or taken away from the home.

Mancini exposes his chest hair for all of us to see.

Mancini wears a red silk night robe? What gangster would wear a night robe?

Mancini monologues like a James Bond villain. the character becomes a parody unto himself.

The scene where all the mobsters are killed by a helicopter and a guy is screaming for his, "lucky coat."
More later, I am laughing to much . . .
